Due to Coronavirus we cannot go outside and play with our friends, but it gives us the perfect opportunity to spend time with our family. That means we can plan ahead to think about all the activities that we will be able to do at the end of the lockdown. I cannot wait to have as many play dates as I can to repay all the time lost during the quarantine. Even better, we can make the dreams we had during lockdown come true. At last, we will be able to connect to nature and what better place to do so than head to the Lake District.

The reason I have chosen this place, is because of the promise it holds for adventure and outdoor fun. There are numerous activities that are possible, including the World of Beatrix Potter where you can see sculptures of the amazing tale of Peter Rabbit, my early years favourite. There are also many viewpoints such as Orrest Head where you can see a breathtaking view, and feel at the top of the world and free from any burdens. I might even go camping and fall asleep under the stars. For children, including me, there is a Treetop trek and nets and an exhilarating zip wire. For people who are fascinated in medieval ages, you can visit the National Trust Wray Castle. Sea creatures lovers can explore the Lake’s aquarium, it is the perfect place for you. There are also numerous reptiles and otters. For unforgettable lakeside views, head to Aira Force waterfall. The thunderous roar of the waterfall will lead you to the enormous drop of 65 feet and you will hear the splashing of the water against the damp rocks. You might hear the faint chirping of the birds over the noise of the waterfall while you walk on the bumpy forest floor.

The Lake District is my dream holiday destination because you can have experiences that you will never forget with your friends and family. The numerous possibilities are waiting for us but for now I will only be able to dream about them. While we all wait in our homes, the nature is preparing for the summer. It has been rebuilding, free from any pollution and human harm. When we go back to nature, it will rejoice us, but we will have to make sure that we keep taking care of it. While I look forward to it, I have to be happy with my dream so I hope that the lockdown will end soon. The Lake District is waiting for us.
