Easter Things to Do in Cumbria

Lakeland Maze Farm Park

Lakeland Maze Farm Park in Kendal is the perfect place for an Easter day out with the family. This time of year you can see lambs, sheep, llamas, ferrets, alpacas, goats, and horses. Children will love meeting, handling, and feeding the animals. As well as the farm, there is a popular Maize Maze to explore. The design changes every year, and there is even a Mini Maze if you want something a little quicker or less challenging.

Other outdoor activities include Go Karting, Giant Draughts, Trampolines, and Tractor and Trailer Rides. Lakeland Maze Farm Park is also great for rainy days, as there are plenty of indoor activities including Indoor Karting, a Pets Barn with smaller animals, and an Indoor Soft Play Area with climbing wall.

Lakes Aquarium

Lakes Aquarium in the Lake District is a great educational day out for the Easter holidays. With exciting creatures and themed displays, it is an interesting day out for all different age groups. There are also daily talks and feeding times, so you can learn more about the creatures and their habitats. There are usually themed weeks during school holidays, so it may be worth checking to see what’s on if you’re thinking of planning a visit.

Treetop Trek

Treetop Trek in Windermere is a fantastic place for a day out this Easter. It is a great way to get the family doing something active whilst having a lot of fun. Treetop Nets are large, bouncy nets that are suspended in the trees. Connected with aerial walkways, slides, tunnels, and ball parks, they are the perfect way to use up some restless energy. For the fearless there is the Climb & Zip, a climbing wall with a 250m triple zip wire descent. Climb & Zip is only open during school holidays, so Easter is a great time to go. Or try the classic Treetop Trek – an award winning aerial course, with obstacles including swinging vines, zip lines, and swinging logs, and balance bars. There is also a smaller version for younger children, or those who are feeling a little less confident.

Walby Farm Park

Open year round and in all weather, Walby Farm Park is a lovely place to visit for a family day out over Easter. With a fantastic programme of events during the Easter holidays, there are plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained, including feeding baby lambs, a daily Easter egg hunt, pony grooming, and opportunities to meet rabbits and guinea pigs. As well as the seasonal events, there are year-round activities such as Electric Mini Quads, a JCB themed ‘Dig & Play’ sand pit, Mini Go-Karts, and a Play Barn with an indoor soft play area.
