Visiting Vineyards in Dorset
English wines are proving ever popular as many people are trying more local produce and enjoying the flavours and varieties as much, if not more than the traditional, popular wine producers of France, Australia and Italy amongst others.
The mild weather and good quality soil is ideal for growing grapes for wine, the most popular varieties produced in this area are Pinot Noir, Bacchus and Chardonnay.
Vines grown in the Dorchester region are set on chalky soil, similar to that found in the Champagne region of France, you can therefore find some excellent sparking white wines too.

🎫 1 Hour Vineyard Tour (Fri & Sat only)
The Tours are carried out by the vineyard owners and will begin in the idyllic surroundings of the Oak amphitheatre and adjoining waterfalls. You will then be guided through the many rows of Pinot and Chardonnay vines whilst they share with you details of the work involved with growing grapes to the highest standards possible in the UK.
🍷 Wine Tasting
After you have toured the vines, you are taken to the visitor’s centre to discover how the vineyard was created and the various stages of getting the product to market. Finally, there is the opportunity to sample the wines.

🎫 2 1/2 Hour Vineyard Tour (Sat & Sun only)
Your experience begins with a relaxed walk around the vineyards, where you will learn about the highlights of the grape growing season and how, in the UK challenging climate we are able to produce premium grapes for sparkling wines. You’ll then be walked through the individual parcels and be told the importance of their nuances and how they are managed.

Finally, you will arrive in the Vineyard Shed and you will take part if a tutored tasting of 4 wines.
