Suffolk is a great place to come for a day out as we have so much to see and do, and something for every age and budget. Take a trip to the friendly family orientated Foxhall Stadium in Ipswich where Spedeworth Motorsports promote spectacular short oval motorsport. The venue has a 5 star hygiene catering rating, modern facilities and some of the fastest, all – action Stadium Motorsport to be seen in the UK. Home of the annual National Hot Rod Championship of the World and National Unlimited Bangers Championship of the World.

If the sun is shining, then head to the coast for a trip on the Coastal Voyager in Southwold. Offering 1/2 hour blasts around Sole bay, dog friendly river trips, 3 hour Seal and wind farm trips, Coastal Cruises or 1/2 or 1 hour drive of your life in which you take control of the boat under the instruction of the skipper.

For something a bit different, why not hire a canoe from Iken Canoe? This is a small and friendly canoe and kayak hire centre based on the stunning upper reaches of the Alde estuary between Snape and Aldeburgh, close to the Suffolk coast. Great for bigger kids (over 5’s only) and grown ups. If you prefer to keep your feet on dry land, you may prefer to visit nearby Woodbridge, where there are plenty of shops to browse and things to do. Stonham Barns is a great day out in the heart of the Suffolk Countryside. It offers a variety of retail shops and leisure facilities such as the Suffolk Owl Sanctuary, Fishing Lakes, Fit Club, Garden Centre and much, much more to ensure you enjoy your visit! For an action packed day out head for the trees at Go Ape in Thetford Forest, the UK’s No1 Forest Adventure. There’s lots to see and do for all ages including Go Ape Tree Top Adventure where you can take to the trees and speed down zip slides! They’re part of an exciting course of rope bridges, Tarzan swings and crossings; all set up to 120 feet above the forest floor. Or if you prefer to keep your feet on the ground, explore by segway! Grab a slice of country life with a day at High Lodge Leisure, a fantastic place to take the family. High Lodge offers archery (7 years+), golf, footgolf, fishing (8 years+), clay shooting (9 years+) and air rifle shooting (6 years+). They also have a clubhouse open to the public which serves excellent Sunday lunches. They have great Youngster activity days throughout the year which offer children the opportunity to have a go at lots of activities (usually during school holidays). One of Suffolk’s most popular Days Out is Jimmys Farm near Ipswich. Families can learn about farming, food and nature whilst having a ton of fun! There is a brilliant adventure playground, two crazy areas, one for the toddlers and another for those who are a bit more grown up. Climb like monkeys, slalom like snakes and go crazy on the zip wire! Don’t miss the Hobbit House, animal petting and den building. And there is of course a fantastic restaurant serving excellent dishes from the best regional ingredients (many from the farm itself), and a farm shop and butchery so you can take some goodies home with you. Guided Tours of the National Stud make for a fascinating trip for all, especially little girls who love ponies! Set amongst acres and acres of prime Suffolk land, shared with Newmarket Racecourses, The National Stud is a unique attraction. Before your tour say hello to the popular miniature Shetland ponies. Visit the Stallion unit. See the foaling unit. Lots to see and do for all ages.
