Open: Thursday/Friday 7.30am – 6.30pm, Saturday 7.30am – 6pm

A celebration of rural life in Devon, and features livestock competitions, equine events, local food and drink, traditional entertainment, rural crafts, trade stands, Demonstrations, displays and a dog show. Plenty for all the family.

Dogs allowed on non-retractable leads, dogs are not permitted access to some of our features and must not be left in cars.

River Cottage Food Fair

Spring Family Dog Show

The Donkey Sanctuary, Slade House Farm, Sidmouth. EX10 0NU

Open: 10am to 4pm

  • Fun dog show with 15 different classes.
  • Doggy Olympics: dog agility, hoopers, bale jumping, fun dog scurry, rally obedience and temptation alley.
  • Dog and donkey demonstrations.
  • Live music from Vine & Dandy, an acoustic duo who bring together great songs and also perform some of their own, catchy original material – all done in their own style.

Buckfast Abbey Garden Fayre

Buckfast Abbey, Buckfastleigh. TQ11 0EE

Open: 10am to 5pm

Free entry with something for all the family. Over 120 stall and free talks throughout the day.

Entertainment throughout the day including Dartington Morris Men with dances originating from middle England, South Devon Singers performing lyrical, bluesy, jazzy, ballads all guaranteed to lift the spirit. Children’s activities and Gardeners’ Question Time.


Saturday 1st to Sunday 2nd June

Torbay Airshow

Paignton Green, Paignton. TQ4 6AG

Open: From 9am both days

Hosting an incredible air display programme, the Airshow features the best military and civilian display teams, including the RAF Red Arrows, RAF Typhoon Display Team, RAF Tucano T1 and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, featuring the Hurricane, Spitfire and Dakota.

Entry to the airshow is free but to guarantee a parking space please pre book your car parking on line.

Uplyme Village Fete

Uplyme Playing Fields, Uplyme.

Ashburton Ale Tasting & Bread Weighing Ceremony & Medieval Fayre

The Ashburton Medieval Court Leet and Baron Jury will be visiting the ale houses and bread merchants to see if their ale and bread are of good quality. Chulmleigh Old Fair

Chulmleigh Fair has taken place every year since Kin Henry III granted a Royal Charter to the Town in 1253

The fair opens on Tuesday evening at 6.30pm followed by the ancient money scramble, although the coins are no longer heated until red hot!

Wednesday (main fair day) – a country and craft market with about 60 stalls is held in the streets.

Marldon Apple Pie Fair

The Marldon Apple Pie Fair has been going since 1888 in memory of local farmer, George Hill, who would use his windfall apples to bake an enormous apple pie for the village. Nowadays, locals and visitors alike join in the celebrations. Events throughout the afternoon include local arts, crafts and food stands, falconry displays, games and even a novelty dog show!

The Exeter Book Fair

The Exeter Fair in the pleasant historic seaport of Topsham is now the only fair in Devon. A full range of books and ephemera, maps and prints are on sale from the more modest to the highly collectable and expensive.

Wednesday 7th August

The North Devon Show

Showground, Umberleigh. EX37 9DX

Open: 8am to 6pm

The annual event is a celebration of North Devon’s agricultural roots. A host of livestock classes occupy the arenas throughout the day with Alpacas, Cattle, Horses, Sheep, Show Jumping and Open Dog Show. Attractions, displays, demonstrations and trade stands for all.

Dogs are allowed into the showground but must be kept under control ant all times. Dogs are not admitted to any of the marquees.

Family Food Fair

For the grown-ups, we’ll have a fantastic line-up of local chefs providing cookery demonstrations throughout the day, giving you the chance to sample some mouth-watering delights as well as inspiration for at home.

Youngsters will also have the chance to get stuck-in with some fun foodie activities and workshops of their own – encouraging creativity in the kitchen.

There will of course be tasty treats from local traders for you to tuck into and it’ll be hard to resist treating yourself to some of the award-winning produce that’ll be on offer.
