Farmhouse Garden Ceremony
Our beautiful Farmhouse garden temple is licensed for weddings. You can arrange your guests on either side of our lavender walk, amidst the fruit trees and pleached hornbeams of the intimate and romantic farm house garden. An English garden ceremony can be the most romantic of options, and because at Retreat East you have other indoor options, we will be able to adapt on the day to suit the weather and remove any stress on that front.
Great Barn Ceremony
Our Great Barn is an oak framed triple height space at the heart of Retreat East. The magnificent brick fireplace is the heart and soul of the building. The room is perfect for wedding feasts and celebrations but can also be adapted for a large ceremony if you require one indoors rather than in the farmhouse garden. Adjacent to the Great Barn is the bar area and Rose Room where guests can mingle before and after the ceremony.
Tuddenham Mill
You won’t find a more stunning mix of historic and modern than the 17th Century converted watermill at Tuddenham. This venue is truly unique and exclusive use of its many areas plus beautiful countryside surroundings, top quality food produced by AA rosette winning chefs and truly impressive accommodation make it the ideal place for a very special wedding day. Kersey Mill
For a truly breathtaking venue in the heart of the Suffolk countryside, close to the picturesque village of Kersey and lovely town of Hadleigh, visit Kersey Mill. The Mill is set in 17 acres and dates back to the Doomsday Book. There’s a choice of suites – the larger Maltings function suite can cater for up to 180 while the smaller Kiln room, pictured above, seats up to 30. There’s also an option to hold a Marquee at Kersey Mill as they are licensed for music indoor and outdoors. Ravenwood Hall
The 16th Century Ravenwood Hall, just outside Bury St Edumunds is a historic fairytale wedding venue. Steeped in history, the Hall has been restored over the years and has 14 double rooms – perfect for luxury accommodation for wedding guests. There are four locations for you to choose from for your big day; The light and airy Edwardian Pavilion with its own pretty garden, the alfresco Summer House by the pool, the Dining Room with a large Inglenook fireplace and original oak beams or The picturesque Lawns. The Orwell Hotel, Felixstowe
The Orwell Hotel is an independent 60 bedroom wedding and events hotel with a Civil Wedding Licence. This historic hotel, near the centre of the lovely seaside town of Felixstowe can provide a variety of options for your special day. Their largest function room can seat up to 200 guests for the wedding breakfast and up to 300 for your evening reception.
Wantisden Valley Shepherd’s Cottage

The Northgate Room
If you or your partner are a bit of a bookworm or you just love Suffolk’s historic buildings, then take a look at The Northgate Room at Ipswich County Library. Built in 1924, 100ft long with a vaulted ceiling and old oak bookshelves and tables, this room has a very special feel to it and the incredible coloured glass windows depicting famous Suffolk figures make it all the more striking and unusual. The room is licensed for weddings and civil partnerships and can hold up to 40 people and they offer great prices for those on a budget.
