Horse Riding in Suffolk is simply the most fantastic experience. Tranquil countryside and miles of unspoilt coastline makes Suffolk the place to be at one with your horse. Here you’ll find miles of bridleways, quiet country lanes and a horse friendly public, plus lessons to help you stay in the saddle (see below for full details).

Suffolk has retained its agricultural industry so there are plenty of stables here, although due to the plethora of health and saftey regs many of them now unfortunately offer only limited facilities for the public. However generally you can still hire a horse or pony at very reasonable rates across most of the county.

Suffolk Punch Trust

Meet these gentle giants and enjoy riding in a horse-drawn wagon. See traditional working horses and learn the history in a fabulous setting with stables, stud and museum. See more at: Suffolk Punch Trust

For the youngest children this might be their first lesson – perhaps on miniature Shetlands – and they will love you for it. There is no better time to introduce your offspring to the delights of being confident on horseback. Several of the stables listed below run pony clubs and camps during the school holidays, so contact them for details. Read more on the Suffolk Punch Trust here.
