Tudor Michaelmas Event

A great family event, Michaelmas is associated with the beginning of autumn and the most important time of the year for Tudors – celebrating (hopefully a great harvest).

There will be over 100 costumed Tudors working in the house; preparing the days meals and serving lunch, in the Moat House; butter and cheese making, at the Forge; doing their Iron work and all around the gardens and grounds getting on with the daily lives.

There will be a full day of activities and to celebrate this time of year and the wonderful crop of apples and pears, Kentwell’s Head Gardener will be in the Walled Garden and will talk to you about all our varieties of fruit and you can decide which ones you prefer ‘taster day at Kentwell’.
