Lunchtime Concert – Music for Ondes Martenot and Piano
The Ondes Martenot was invented in 1928 by the French musician Maurice Martenot who was inspired by the accidental overlaps of tones between military radio oscillators, and wanted to create an electronic musical instrument with the expressiveness of the cello. This is a rare opportunity to see and hear the rich and expressive nature of the instrument in original works and arrangements of popular classics with Malcolm Bell (ondes martenot) and Peter Humphrey (piano).
Admission is free with a retiring collection to defray expenses. Donations of at least £2.00 per head are valued to maintain the series. Tea and coffee are served from 12.30pm.For full details, visit our website
