Wild Calm – Bathe in Hainault Forest
Come and spend time in Hainault Forest, engaging with it through your senses. We will be using methods developed on the basis of Japanese ‘forest bathing’ or shinrin-yoku. Research in Japan has found that spending quality time with the forest is very beneficial physically. It also has great emotional and psychological benefits, calming the mind by engagement with the forest through the body.
Your guide will be Monica Janowski, who is a guide in practicum with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy. Monica is a social anthropologist with more than 30 years of experience researching the relationship between indigenous people in Borneo and the rainforest in which they live.
