Lunchtime Lecture – The Ipswich Charter Hangings
An illustrated talk by Isabel Clover. In 2000 a project was launched to celebrate 800 years of Ipswich being granted a Royal Charter by King John. The resulting Ipswich Charter Hangings – a series of eight large, embroidered wall panels – provide a visual record and a unique way of exploring the achievements and often hidden history of the town. Come and find out about the journey they have been on over the past 20 years, the connections made, the stories uncovered and what people have learnt from seeing them.
Admission is free with a retiring collection to defray expenses. Donations of at least £2.00 per head are valued to maintain the series. Tea and coffee are served from 12.30pm.For full details, visit our website
