Drypoint Exploration Day

You will be introduced to a range of drypoint techniques using card and plastic plates. There will be the opportunity to experiment with complimentary techniques such as Chine Colle and printing on a variety of different papers.

The printmaking day course will include:

Introduction to the variety of materials that can be used as drypoint plates. Exploration of range of marks that can be made using scribes, roulettes, carborundum, sandpaper and wire wool etc. Use of Chine Colle. Exploring the shape of your drypoint plate. Printing onto different papers. Development of your design (at A6 size). Wiping techniques. Printing out your designs using a professional press.

No previous experience required. All materials and lunch* will be provided. The course will be led by Lisa Hurcum and Hugh Davies.
