FSC Flatford Mill

The Field Studies Centre at FSC Flatford Mill offers a wide range of day and residential courses including Arts, wildlife, crafts, local history and photography. The are working Towards a Great Crested Newt Licence is well known as a backdrop to many of John Constable’s paintings, yet it is easily accessible from London, Suffolk and Essex. The Centre offers visitors of all ages a tranquil and unique learning environment.

We have 25 bedrooms that can accommodate up to 78 people. You can even stay in Willy Lott’s House, made famous by Constable’s Haywain painting or Valley Farm – a 14th Century Tudor Hall. Our dining room provides amazing home-cooked meals from local produce and we always have an ample supply of cake and fruit every day for all of our guests. We also have 5 classrooms with interactive whiteboards, a library, recreation room, car parking for up to 40 cars as well as river frontage on the River Stour, our own island, woods, meadows and field.
